HAC currently has the following job openings:

SRO Housing Program for Formerly Homeless Alcoholics

 

HAC operates Single Room Occupancy (SRO) housing. This housing is for chronic alcoholics who had previously lived on the streets for years and who are unable to maintain sobriety. HAC does not require sobriety from tenants or participation in treatment so many tenants continue to drink on a sporadic or daily basis. No drinking is allowed in the house or in the neighborhood. This housing has helped many individuals reduce the amount of time they spend drinking. Tenants are able to make changes in their lives such as improving their physical or mental health, such as reuniting with family they had lost contact with.

 

1. Program Assistant:  Part-time. Shifts are 4pm-12M. The program assistant is responsible for working with tenants on the 4-12 shift by monitoring them, performing crisis intervention, offering support, and working on goals with tenants. Program Assistants are also responsible for recreational activities. Bachelor’s or Associates Degree preferred or human service experience. Salary range: $9.50-$10.50/hr.

 

2. Residential Staff:  Monitor & assist tenants, provide crisis intervention, cleaning and cooking. Currently there are part-time openings on all shifts. Respite staff also needed. (Shifts are 8A-4P; 4P-8P; and 12M-8A. All shifts pay $8.40/hr with the exception of the overnight shift which has a differential rate of $9.40/hr.

 

** Candidates for all positions must be able to work with intoxicated individuals and be non-judgmental and accepting of their choices. Also, must be able to diffuse conflict in a non-violent manner.

 

Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance paid in full by HAC the month after hiring. Other benefits available after a 90 day probationary period include vacation, sick & personal time. Dental insurance is paid in full by HAC after 60 days of employment.
